POSITION SUMMARY:

Lead and direct all technical aspects of Structural Analysis for the New Product Development Integrated Product Team (IPT). Ensure that the Structural Analysis activities are planned, coordinated, and executed to support the needs of the program, including but not limited to Stress Analysis, Mass Properties Analysis, Loads Analysis, and Fatigue Analysis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Provide oversite and leadership of aircraft loads analyses, weight investigations, and preparation of a structural design criteria report of new/preliminary aircraft designs in coordination with FAA regulations

· Provide oversite and leadership of aircraft flight and ground loads analyses, and preparation of a required FAA certification loads report

· Provide test planning for static and fatigue tests of structural components, prepare test procedures, observe and document static or fatigue test results in coordination with FAA type certification report

· Provide weight analysis, including mass properties, weight estimation, loading, weighing and/or calculation aircraft part weights and prepare a FAA type report for certification

· Provide test planning for flammability tests and oversite of certification reports on new materials

· Determine compliance with the applicable regulations covering the structural strength, crash protection, interiors, basic loads, weight balance, stress analysis, static test, dynamic test, fatigue analysis/assessment, and evaluation the processes and fabrication methods to produce the aircraft structure

· Review drawings, specifications, service bulletins, reports, etc. for compliance with applicable regulations

· Provide FAA required aircraft type certification reports showing compliance with the proper FAA or Foreign regulations on all structural components by either analysis or test

· Review non-conformance reports pertaining to test article build and conduct analyses and provide appropriate disposition of non-conformance items

· Provide preliminary analysis on Marketing ideas and concepts effecting the aircraft structure and /or weight in coordination with FAA regulations

· Assist the Manager, Product Development IPT in the following tasks:

Defining program requirements
Define man-power requirements to support business needs
Preparing material for presentation at design and program reviews
· Perform other related duties as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to other structural analysts in the IPT in the interpretation of the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) and in structural analysis methods

· Delegate job assignments to other structural analysts in the IPT as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

· Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Aeronautical or Aerospace

· Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in structural analyses, test and design, or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Working knowledge of and experience with FAA certification requirements (CAR 3, Part 23, etc.)

· Familiarity with FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and C+ computer programming; and experience in Finite Element analysis and modeling, structural repair and MRBs

· General knowledge of all phases of aircraft design, analysis, testing, approval, as well as hands-on knowledge of FAA certification procedures and regulations



Preferred:

· Working knowledge of Siemens NX CAD system
