Description

Ascend Airways will begin operating a small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market, opening its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. The company is founded on the legacy of Synergy Aviation, a respected UK AOC holder, which has been acquired by Avia Solutions Group, already the world’s largest ACMI provider with over 180 airliners in operation.

We are seeking candidates for positions of Captain, reporting to the Director of Flight Operations. These are important roles, and the successful candidates will play a key part in the birth of this new airline and enjoy the possibilities for career advancement which our growth will bring. The positions will be based at London Gatwick and will involve some night-stopping with occasional longer periods up to two weeks away from base during the winter season only. The flying pattern will comprise busy summer months but with quieter winter rosters anticipated, pilots may take additional time off during the winter season to suit their lifestyle.

Requirements

The successful candidates will have the following experience and attributes:

Unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom
Class One medical certificate without restrictions (other than for spectacles/contact lenses)
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
Willing to maintain a home address within 90 minutes travelling time of London Gatwick
Captains:

UK CAA ATPL(A) with Boeing 737 type rating either current or expired by no more than two years
A minimum of 3,000 hours total time
A minimum of 500 hours in command of Boeing 737 aircraft

Benefits

We offer a competitive package of salary, flight pay, per diems, and pension contribution (4.5%) as well as paid parking at base and paid aviation medical examinations.

Expected salary including flight pay is approximately £117,800 for Captains plus 6% of salary as a pension contribution. Holiday entitlement is 42 days per year, with ten days off per month, and we also offer three ‘golden days’ each year on which crew members are guaranteed a day off at base.

We are building an attractive working environment including a continuous professional development programme, and the opportunity to join at the start of a well-funded project with an expert senior management team.
